Dr. Sondra Brown
Dr. Sondra Brown comes from a small town in Kansas where her family raised and showed English Setters. Dr. Brown graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary medicine in 1993. She then returned to KSU to earn a Masters Degree in Veterinary Pathology. She worked as a veterinarian in Manhattan, KS before settling in Tallahassee. Dr. Brown is married and has three children. She shares her home with three dogs (Golden Retriever, Miniature Schnauzer and Shetland Sheepdog) and three cats (one DSH, one Bengal and one Burmese). She is a member of Northside Rotary club. Dr. Brown's primary interests in veterinary medicine include preventative care, internal medicine and behavioral medicine. |

Dr. Kevin Brumfield
Dr. Kevin Brumfield, a 1997 Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine graduate, is originally from Ocean Springs, MS. He started at Northwood Animal Hospital in 1997 and has been part owner since 2000. In addition to dog and cat patients, Dr. Brumfield has a special interest in exotic animal medicine. He is one of our primary soft tissue and orthopedic surgeons, and performs a number of advanced surgical procedures. He also enjoys dentistry, internal medicine, and emergency medicine. He is married and has a three year old daughter. He and his wife have three dogs, Mickey (black Lab), Ack (Miniature Pinscher), and Baxter (Lab-Golden mix). |

Dr. Sherri Kasper
Dr. Sherri Kasper, a 1998 graduate from University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, is originally from Warren, NJ. She has a strong interest in ultrasound and has pursued this through numerous ultrasound and echocardiogram conferences. Dr. Kasper completed several externships in both small and large animal medicine, include emergency medicine before arriving in Tallahassee. She has been a part of the Northwood Animal Hospital team since February 1999. Dr. Kasper is married and has two children. As for pets, she has two dogs, Clyde (Catahoula mix) , and Ike (Cocker mix). |

Dr. Kathleen Cavell
Dr. Kathleen Cavell was born and raised in Wyandeott, Michigan. Prior to and during veterinary school she worked at several small animal practices, including an emergency practice, gaining over seven years experience as a veterinary assistant before becoming a veterinarian.
She attended Michigan State University for undergraduate work and veterinary school, graduating in May 2006. During school Kathleen focused on surgery, emergency medicine, ultrasound and exotic pet medicine. She participated in exotics externships in San Francisco and at UC Davis, CA. Kathleen's interest in extoics extends to her home life - she has owned many rats over the past eight years. She has also owned lizards, snakes, birds and rabbits. Kathleen's current pets include three orange male cats (Cthulhu and Azathoth and Gygax), an epileptic male German Shepherd rescue named Pavlov, and a shepherd mix rescue from Northwood named One-Eyed Jack.
She is currently living in Tallahassee with her husband, Mathieu, who is attending FSU for a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. In her spare time she enjoys hiking with her dogs, painting, sculpting, disc golf and other outdoor activities. |

Dr. Alicia Smith
Dr. Alicia Smith graduated from North Carolina State in 2004. She is particularly interested in Neurology, and Dermatology. She has a retired racing greyhound, two Devon Rex cats, and a three year old toddler! In her off time she can be found in paint-stained coveralls, renovating her 1939 house. |
